Easy run with Nel, Bob, RJ and Johnnie on the Maass loop. Had some fairly intense left knee pain after yesterday's run and hit it with Pennsaid and some ice and today it is fine. Have some right hip soreness. Averaged 57 mpw over the last six. That's a lot of miles for me with some very high quality work mixed in.

Airport Rd was about the best option to avoid Junk Jaunt traffic today. Probably would have ridden this direction anyway with the wind, but didn't venture past Hwy 11 as I would have otherwise. Pretty tough wind.

2016 Omaha Corporate Cup

Ran with two of my brother-in-law's; the one who did zero training, and has only ever run 5 miles in his life ("a couple of years ago") set the "pace". Had a bunch of laughs along the way.

A slightly modified course this year that is just as tough. I though I could do 37:00 like two years ago, but two miles in I readjusted for 38:00. I needed a 5:45 sixth mile (downhill) just to get that.

As a racing snob, I refused to accept a finishers medal for a 10K (and 2-mile!). The participation trophy has increased all the way to adults now.

My Corporate Cup XXIV

New course this year; designed to not interfere with the Arts Festival. Two hairpin turns which never would have worked in the old days but there were less than 2,000 finishers in the 10K so it was ok.
Managed 2 sub 8 min miles include the last one when the Achilles was really hurting. So things are looking up.
