Devil run in more ways than one. I was having a little gastrointestinal distress, likely brought on by my indulgence in National Donut Day, and thought I had a bathroom near my turnaround. Unfortunately there weren't any facilities there and I had to get back a little over a mile in a bit of distress. The running itself felt good though.

Matt, Greg, and Me from Meadowlark for our usual EZ 45. Headed downtown to the Post Office on 8th and back on 9th. At one house on 8th, I was on the sidewalk and guys were in the street, a dog came running and barking up to the fence followed by a rooster cockadoodle-ing. Scared me to pieces. Never know what you're gonna get.

Good coffee to follow at Meadowlark.

TGIF. My only day off out of 6 in a row. Should be beautiful. :)

Looking forward to MTB w/WassE to Malvern and back this weekend!

Enjoyed USA Women v Japan last night, great game ended up 3-3. I enjoy the competition for them better than the blowouts leading into Olympics.

Haven't "logged" a Goose in a while, figured why not to promote USAvCOL as tonight kicks off Copa América Tournament!

With 15 x 25 seconds fast/1 minute aerobic in middle of the run.

Song of the day: "Spanish Caravan" by the Doors. Again, I'm not a huge Doors fan...although I think John Densmore, Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger are amazing and creative musicians, I can't take Jim Morrison. Love Robby Krieger's virtuosic flamenco guitar here on this track, and have wondered what Robby thought of Jose Feliciano's brilliant flamenco version of the Doors' "Light My Fire".

Sidenote: Nils Lofgren tells a great story about Jose Feliciano and his well known self depricating humor. In 1978, they were part of an all star vocal chorus in the movie "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band". Beatles producer George Martin was directing and arranging the massive chorus, and had written out the vocal arrangement in charts on large boards. George Martin, overly stressed, says to the singers, "OK--it's very important--can everyone see the boards???" Jose Feliciano, who is blind, piped up and said "No sir, I can't see the boards", to which everyone fell over laughing!
