Warm up in North Bend. Ran the mile course to check it on GPS and got 1.02. Close enough.

Ran about a mile and a half with Matt in North Bend, then drove to Fremont Lakes and finished up with a lap of Victory Lake, taking a little trip down memory lane and times being at the lakes as a kid.

Knowing I am racing tomorrow, ran the mile so I could help Matt at the finish line, too. First 500 on the track, then gravel to turn around and last 500 on the track. 77 @ 400 was probably a bit too rich but following a couple of 5K guys. 2:42 half way so came back in 2:52. Was suffering a bit over the end. Overall happy with effort.

Dizzy Goat was an incredible experience for my first trail ultra. I learned so much and met great new friends, I can't believe how encouraging everyone was throughout the course. The officials and volunteers were some of the best I've ever seen.

Mate Jeremy took first for the 12 hour race for the fourth year in a row. I can see why he keeps coming back. He kept me motivated throughout. Watching him tear through those trails - he's a force to be reckoned with.

I ended up with second for the 6 hour race, I made it 9 loops before my clock was up for a total of 29.25 miles. And like any crazy runner would do, I went another 1.75 miles after receiving my medal so that I completed my first 50k distance.
