There was so much traffic today in the early morning hour. Usually the village is so quiet at this time.

Ran by a mink that had been hit by a car. Poor thing. :((

Last night we watched Beverly Hills Cop II. Eddie Murphy is one funny guy. I and II are my all time favorites!

Ran my District666 route, throwing in a Cedar extension, for good measure (that fookin' hill is just mean (I don't care what Big Dave says!!)).

La La Land is very pretty, but very odd. Lots of WTFery going on, too much for a musical. Emma Stone & Ryan Gosling, though, they ooze on-screen chemistry.

Well, after an extremely SPIRITED Christmas celebration yesterday, I was unsure I could make it this morning. But, I started running and felt really, really good. Me, Matt, Bryan, Greg, Tom, and Ben for an awesome run. Capped off by Ben asking who wants a secret hill? Me! Me! Bryan said, you hate hills. Yes, I say, BUT how do you get better? You do it. :) So we did. It was long, that's pho sho. Then, Matty helped me on a fast downhill. It was just a great morning with awesome guys. :)

Happy HumpDay.

Rest in peace, Carrie Fisher. As Leia, she with Luke, Han and the gang were like family for four decades. As herself, she was by all accounts a warm and funny person. And a brave advocate to those with chemical or mental struggles to seek help. She will be missed.

Song of the day: "Hearts and Bones" by Paul Simon. In a classic case of life imitating art, Carrie and Paul's relationship and marriage ultimately did not work out; as neither did Leia and Han. This title cut of Paul's 1983 album was to have been a Simon and Garfunkel reunion album...that fell through as well. The song itself chronicles the rocky road that Carrie and Paul were on. "One and one-half wandering Jews return to their natural coasts". Paul is Jewish, Carrie was half Jewish; and their natural coasts--Carrie to California, Paul to New York. Such a poignant and somber song, fitting for today.
