Track workout at X. Warm up 3.5 miles with 5 x 100 strides. 2 sets of 2000 (5 mi pace), 2000 (5 mi + 1 min), 2000 (5 mi pace) with 2000 jog rest between sets. Cool down 3.05 miles.

Target was 7:30, 8:30, 7:30. Ran some with Katie and Harvey, but most of it solo.

Set 1 and first 2000 of set 2 felt pretty good. Then I started having white line fever on the dark track and had to work hard to stay focused. Next to last 2000 took strong mental effort. Last 2000 took even more. Overall very good workout. Needed lots of water afterwards.

Got nothing today; went to a late show w/ a buddy last night, and during the movie the rain stopped over Omaha and just fell and fell and fell.

The drain, on the east side of Alamo, couldn't handle the amount of rain. My buddy's car (along w/ a bunch of others) wound up sitting in a small, temporary pond for a while. The floorboards were 100% full!

We bailed his car out, and the car of dude next to him; all of that led to me getting home more than hour later than originally planned. So, faxed Dan & CoachP, letting them know I was out for this morning's run.

Blah, blah, blah...


In other news, April and I are celebrating 14 years of the being married today. Kudos to us. Lo Sole Mio tonight. Mmmmm!

Slept in a bit and decided to go solo. I think I knew this wasn't going to be pretty. Hammy flared up at Mile 1. I had so much energy to go--felt like a pent up filly. This was supposed to be a lot longer, and quicker. At Mile 3.5 I just had to stop. Ended up walking Lucy for 4 more miles. Probably not smart. I'm just so irritated right now....Ugh...
