Happy birthday, James!

Three weeks until the race, let the taper begin!

Just found out that Walter Becker of Steely Dan died. Like 'em or not (I do), there's no denying the studio genius of Becker and Donald ***en--the duo who for all practical purposes WAS Steely Dan. They were the songwriters and creative force behind the band and surrounded themselves with various extremely high caliber studio musicians where perfection was the goal.

Song of the day: "Do It Again" by Steely Dan.

Was going to go 12 but came across Shelley walking the puppies so I shut it down. Today was about making the distance, not the pace but was satisfied with both.

One loop before breakfast. 10.3 miles. Six bicyclists, nine walkers, one dog, two runners, one of which had a LRC shirt on but also didn't say hello back. Two vehicles going my way.

Easy run with Booty from Hotel into the City and back. Perfect Morning weather. A lot of runners and bikers out on the trail. Stopping at the National Museum of Motorcycles on the way back today. They have the motorcycle from the old TV series "Then Came Bronson" I was really into motorcycles back then. Liked that show.

Not too bad out. Two dogs having a conversation or a barking contest. One owl. One friendly walker with his dog (Nick rarely speaks, let alone speak first). One unfriendly bicycle rider without lights (granted it was dark and he may have ear buds in). Just your ordinary Labor Day Sunday...
